Close quarters
Working from home again has been an adjustment. If a landlord was listing the space in an attempt to convince someone to rent it, they would call it, um, “cozy.” Realistically there is hardly enough floor space to even stretch a medium-sized canvas - forget anything over three feet. But it’s been okay, and it’s temporary (that’s what I keep telling myself.)
Recently I have been working on a painting for my next group show, happening in London in March. I have been on a bit of a surrealist kick lately and this one in particular is influenced by a Magritte painting that I have always loved a lot.
Here is the color study;
A little progress in the studio;
And my inspiration (you know I love that glowing pink sun;)
It feels really good to get back into the swing of things, even if I’m working with less space for the time being. Hope you are all weathering the winter okay! Just a couple more months until spring!
